Entrepreneur Bootcamp for Kids
Activity Schedule
Day 1 (Monday)
This session will train the campers on how to think "outside the box" to start the day. There will be activities that are designed to build the campers' self confidence, showing them that they can do almost anything they set their minds to and they will also be introduced to the concept of networking and the characteristics of an entrepreneur. Towards the end of the day, they will be given opportunities to apply their problem solving abilities and idea generation skills, which will prepare them to come up with ideas for the "Business for a Day" project.

Day 2 (Tuesday)
This session will teach campers the various costs that go into running a business such as marketing, supplies, wages and taxes. Campers will learn that just because they may own their own business, it does not mean that they will become rich automatically. There will be activities during the day that will help campers to develop skills in problem solving, creativity, teamwork, organization, planning and communication.

Day 3 (Wednesday)
This session will have campers working on problem solving and displaying their creative sides by pretending that they are already in business and networking with other "business people" to solve various problems faced by their business. Campers will be introduced to the concept of loan agreement and be taught that the more you borrow, the more you have to pay back. There will be activities that will allow the campers to make poster advertisements, flyer and business cards for their business after they are able to secure financing for their "business".

Day 4 (Thursday)
This session will get the campers to go out and run their "Business for a Day" and let them see what it is really like to run a business on small scale. Campers will be taught to develop strategy and decision making abilities, as well as various terms used in entrepreneurship. There will be activities at the end of the day that will give campers time to reflect on how their businesses turned out and make them responsible for the loans that they borrowed.

Day 5 (Friday)
This session will debrief the campers on what happened to their businesses yesterday. They will be mentored by a guest entrepreneur who will discuss similarities and differences between the campers' experience and the experiences of an ongoing business. Awarding of International Certificate of Entrepreneurship Bootcamp from the Canadian Institute of Entrepreneurship to each camper will highlight the end of the program.
